Meet The Founder

Born from a passion of helping business owners improve their business to further support their community.

UPbook

The concept of UPbook can be traced back to the dusty grain markets of India while Michael was working to mend the wounds and health of camels used for local transportation.

These camel owners were small business people just like our more familiar service based businesses in North America, and though the environment they worked in was vastly different, the same fundamental business challenges faced both …

The idea was sudden:

If something were to happen to a camel, the entire livelihood of the camel driver to support his extended family in the village is completely destroyed…leaving him and his family perilously vulnerable.

Michael Warren, Managing Director

Two Ways To Make A Huge Difference…

In that moment Michael realized there were two ways to make a difference:

Dedicate his personal labor towards supporting the camels for example (as he was at that moment)

OR build an organization which could develop the resources to make a potentially larger impact.

As a service based entrepreneur, Michael realized that service businesses in North America were the exact kind of small business that needed the help, so with entrepreneurial zeal he plunged into building a team and a business model with 3 purposes:

Transform the often stagnating state of service businesses into a model which provides success for the owner, staff, and the community

Build an internal team and culture which could create real positive impact in the world

Integrate the process of social contribution directly into the business model, so that not only North American businesses, but entrepreneurs around the world could benefit from the success in the form of micro credit loans funded on behalf of each client.

This kernel of a dream has since attracted the exceptionally talented team which quickly went to work identifying the major obstacles preventing business owners and their teams from being fully successful, and the key opportunities which would dramatically improve the ultimate customer experience.
Having now worked intimately with hundreds of service businesses the UPbook team has delivered over 1829 success stories and $861,000 of micro credit loans to over 3,100 eager entrepreneurs around the world.
But this is just the beginning, as the UPbook team is as passionate as ever to find those fellow entrepreneurs willing and ready to make a difference, and provide them with strategy and tactics proven to completely transform their business.
Join us on this exciting journey, to transform your business, your team, and ultimately to make a real impact in your local community…

Here’s How You Helped Maria
(one of the many microcredit recipients) …

Maria spends her days among the flowers. She is a micro-entrepreneur in Mosquera, a small municipality of Cundimarca. As an employee of a flower company she had years of experience of the industry and decided in 2015 to set up her own flower business named in honor of her mother. Not only does she offer services around her primary flower business but she has now expanded into selling candles, essences and aromatic herbs.

Maria is separated. Her #1 priority is to provide for her two children, aged 16 and 12. She wants to provide them with the best chance of receiving a great education and living a life that she could only dream of when she was growing up.

We are delighted to report her business is still going strong, something that would not have been possible without the loan.
